Andrew D'Angelo's Fine 1931 Conn Transitional
Damn this is one fine stud of a horn. It was also another enormous job. Eleven new oversized hinge tubes, seven hinge tube extensions, two new screws, and the longest microtuner disassembly battle to date. But it was all so worth it. If you are not familiar with Andrew's beautiful playing check out his website here: Andrew D'Angelo. If you are familiar with his brilliant explorations you have probably seen him play this horn with his DNA Orchestra, or any of his other groups. Well, this horn is back in action and it looks gorgeous and tough. White lacquered doe skin pads with custom brass resonators.

was playing a Yamaha Custom Z. Andrew met with the original owner and decided then and there to make this his new horn. It's had two repads in that time, but this has been the first mechanical rebuild. I look forward to hearing more of Andrew's music from this horn.
