1950 Buescher 400 Top Hat and Cane Alto
Here is a stripped 1950 Buescher 400 Top Hat and Cane. I stripped the lacquer off this horn and gave it a Full Mechanical Overhaul back in 2008. These pictures were taken two years later, in 2010, after I had left the corporate repair world and started my own shop in Seattle. The owner of this horn takes great care of it and brings the horn in once a year for a Full Oil Change and Complete Regulation. Somewhere in the intervening years he requested that I replace any pads needing changing with White Grey Joey Kangaroo pads; hence the one close up of the white B and Bb pads. In the intervening years I learned the importance of taking excellent close ups of all my pad work, which is why there are no close ups of the pad work from 2008, I hadn't started doing what you see elsewhere in my gallery.
