Great post Carlo. I love SML saxes, they have the most even timbres, ready response, great scales. 40 years ago I played an SML gold medal tenor for a summer, remembering it fondly. I finally got around to catching one for myself this year and yeah, it is as good as I remembered. If you get one of these, hold on to it. SML saxes reminds me of the Laubin or Covey oboe makers, producing small quantities of very very well crafted, hand made instruments.
